The town of Celebration , Florida,  is community in Osceola County United States, located near Walt Disney World Resort  (Disney Florida). The community was master-planned and originally developed by The Walt Disney Company and the design is very pleasing and clean-cut. Celebration is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area and has a population of around 10,000 people. If you’re staying in Florida and have some spare time away from the Disney Parks, Celebration is worth visiting or you can stay in Celebration itself, near the lake at The Celebration Hotel. We happened to visit on the day of the Posh Pooches parade in Celebration town.

Princess Pooch. She and her owner were gorgeous.

I love finding unexpected things as we travel and not over-planning everything? Well we had another good one! We’d done most of the usual recommended things in Orlando Florida, this one was a bonus.

Posh Pooches in Celebration was yet another unexpected USA road trip joy and Celebration Florida deserves its own blog post.

The Town of Celebration Florida

We went for a drive to check out the town of Celebration, not far from Orlando Florida. The town was designed by Walt Disney as an idealised American town. Mr Disney did a great job, as you’d expect.

Celebration Town Florida Lake and Fountaind
Celebration is a beautiful town with a pretty lake and fountains and charming architecture.

Celebration town is postcard pretty, the houses reminded me very much of the immaculately kept examples we saw in Pennsylvania Charlotte and Charlston.

We spotted what looked like a market in Celebration and so parked up to take a closer look. This was no ordinary market, this was a super special doggy market. We’d found posh pooches at the annual Posh Pooch Festival.

This dog festival in Veelebration was so much fun! Loads of gorgeous canines and their proud and friendly owners out strutting their stuff at a doggy themed get together.

There were cute dressed up posh pooches.

Some less cute but very clever posh pooches.

and amazing doggy accessories to buy for your posh pooches.

It’s often the things we don’t expect that are the most fun, don’t you think?

The best way to enjoy Celebration Florida is to stroll around the lake and fountains enjoying the view, but there are some special things to see and do in the town of Celebration.

The Celebration Farmers Market is normally held on Sunday mornings, if you can visut Celebration on a Sunday, this is a great lace to browse for produce, plants and baked goods. The Celebration Farmers Market is on Sycamore St.

Lake Ryanhard can be spotted from Celebration’s Front St. There are signs warning visitors of aligators, and yes, you may be lucky enough to spot an aligator here along with various water birds.

Corpus Christie Catholic Church is a pretty white-painted church near the lake. You could explore using the various bicycles (and gold mobility scooters) available in Celebration.

For artists and creatives you can even take a special sneaker painting class in Celebration. Check that out here.

  1. Alyson, I enjoy reading your posts about the US. I am amazed at how much you are discovering and how little this native knows!

  2. The bacon dipped in chocolate in Amish country …. The bacon-chocolate truffle in Charleston … Trending. =)
Because if the salty/sweet, My husband loves the idea. Me? Blech. =)

  3. It’s been a few days since you’ve posted about eating pork dipped in chocolate…..which I personally find to be repulsive 🙂 but I was starting to see a theme. =))))
