Best Travel Neck Pillow That Could Work!

Updated 13/12/2018 By Alyson Long. Any post on this site may contain affiliate links. If you use them, they cost you nothing extra. We make a small commission.

I state very clearly on my Travel Gear page ( our main packing directory), that we do not carry travel neck pillows with us, and haven’t since the first week of our 3 years of travel, because they’re rubbish and don’t work. My neck pillow ( you can see it in the photo on that travel gear page), lasted one flight before I jettisoned it.  Neck pillows are not comfortable, they don’t help and they’re too bulky for long-term travel Well, this morning I might be changing my mind as a new, best travel neck pillow is on the market. I HAVE NOT TRIED this neck pillow, but it looks like it might work!

Apparently a travel neck pillow that actually works has been invented. So good is it, that it has won awards for innovation and is the hottest, best-selling, travel product across the UK and Europe.

I Googled ” best travel pillow” and there it was. A strange-looking object, but immediately I could see the advantages, can you?

The problem with old style neck pillows is neck lol, and that’s nothing to do with laughing, your chin droops forward, your neck hurts, no sleep is possible. But look what they did with this baby!

The other problem is, they don’t usually fold down, leaving you to find extra space for it in your already stuffed carry-on bag. This new J pillow kneck pillow is foldable!

In these days of budget airlines and non reclining seats, sleeping on planes is getting harder and harder. I still manage, on our last overnight flight from Kathmandu to Dubai, I rested my head on my arms on the tray table while both children rested their heads on my lap and slept like, well, children. We prefer to fly at night because it’s easier on them, particularly for budget airlines with no in-flight movies or food. For more on problems of travelling with kids, see this post.

So for us, this looks like a great idea, I sit in the middle with my fancy pillow, they get to use mum as a cushion as always.

What do you think? Could this be the answer to the age-old neck pillow problem? Do you use one? Have you tried these? Let me know in the comments before I spend my hard-earned cash would you?

Just so you know, I’m not being paid or sponsored to share this, I haven’t received a free J pillow sample, I just thought it looked like a great idea. This is the first time I’ve ever shared a product via a post. If you object in large numbers I’ll never do it gain, so let me know if you mind. These are, of course, affiliate links which cost you nothing but help us fund our websites and keep them free for you to use.

Multumesc!

Alyson and the boys.

I am a frequent flyer and I do go travelling a lot. Yet recently, I usually take my daughter with me. We both love nature and being a part of nature. In deed, in this early Jan 2017, we plan to take a trip to enjoy the atmostphere when the spring comes. Always fall in love with sleeping pillows when they are in pink.
    Any good recommendation on this?
Thank you for sharing these info and please keep it up

I have no problem whatsoever in seeing product reviews/recommendations here. Particularly this one, bc I have long been buying and discarding pillows that never work for me. However, I would prefer to be taken to the product page with your links, rather than to a screen asking me to verify that I want it to be added to my cart. With the way Amazon affiliate links work, you would still receive a commission on anything I bought in the next 24 hours.

It’s a shame Amazon doesn’t provide us with a way to add affiliate links to the settings on our apps, because that would be a great way to support the people and websites we’d like to help.

In any case, I feel that this type of post is very useful, because they call attention to products we wouldn’t otherwise know about. I’d only seen a huge pillow that I thought had this name. Reviews of products you’ve actually used, positive and negative, carry even more weight. Hope to hear about more of them all.

Thank you Rebecca! I had no idea it was doing that, it doesn’t for me, which is very weird. It’s a new plugin I just bought and am rolling out, haven’t really got the hang of it yet. Great feedback, cheers! ( are you in the US? That could be why)

        Hi Alyson,

Yes, I am actually in the States at the moment. And I definitely understand it can take a while to figure out all of the bits and pieces of new tech – software even more than hardware. It’s not a big problem on this end, but I wish you the best with it.

I suspect it’s only doing it for US customers. I think I can switch it off. Cheers!

I have a J-Pillow and LOVE it! The chin-pillow-part really makes a difference. I now don’t take a night flight without mine. I’m not a brand ambassador or anything, just sharing my personal experience 🙂

Thank YOU! Looks like I’ll be buying one . Sleeping with my head on the tray table is less than ideal 😉
