Is This The Best Vegetarian Pizza Ever?
Potato pizza. It doesn’t sound like much does it? When I saw it on a menu it sounded a bit weird, I had to order it, I like weird.
It was a pizza topped with thin slices of little waxy potatoes, with just the right amount of fresh rosemary and not too much cheese, on a thin, puffy, wood fired base. It is a pizza heaven! ( sorry!)
I’ve gone back to being vegetarian after a 5 year hiatus, it feels oh, so good! I feel healthier and just generally better about everything. With my new friend, the potato pizza, I have no need to ever think of sausage sandwiches again.
This, king of pizzas, is to be found at The Kitchen Bistro And Bar, Port Douglas, my new favorite restaurant. Casual outdoor dining, child friendly, great service and, most importantly, fantastic food. No packet opening going on here. My husband, the fancy pants chef, gives it a great big thumbs up, too.
The children and I often chat to tourists around Port Douglas, in playgrounds and on the beach. They ask where I would recommend as a child friendly restaurant, I’ve struggled to answer this question . Kitchen Bistro and Bar is new, the team are enthusiastic and I’m expecting great things from them. A refurb is scheduled for the wet season, so they may be shut for a while. You’ll find them on Macrossan St. opposite The Port Village Shopping Centre.
So if you’re looking for a great child friendly restaurant in Port Douglas and possibly the best vegetarian pizza ever, give it a go!
