You could be enjoying a beautiful villa in wonderful Jamaica.
Reggae, rum and the sun! Jamaica is definitely not just for lovers but a place to kickback and enjoy some good family fun.
If you and your loved ones are looking for an adventurous getaway or simply to escape the cold and relax, Jamaica has something for everyone. Whether its beach activities, excursions, cultural festivals, or just working on that tan, here is a few of our favorite family friendly activities that are not to be missed!
Jamaica’s Blue Mountains
Take a break from beach time and go explore Jamaica’s incredibly lush Blue Mountains. The longest mountain range along the eastern edge of Jamaica, the Blue Mountains feature some of the island’s most majestic scenery.
Rent a private Jamaican family vacation rental, and take the time to explore these hills. Book a guided family night hike up the mountain towards Blue Mountain Peak just in time for sunrise and some once in a life time, breathtaking views. Then discover the rich terrain by taking those mountain bikes on the road. But be sure to stop for lunch and a cup of world famous Blue Mountain coffee in one of the remote villages along the way.
Jamaica’s stunning white sand beaches and emerald waters are sights for sore eyes and a great place for you and your family to spend your time. There are a variety of watersports for the kids to enjoy as well as the parents; kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, and glass bottom boat tours are all wonderful ways to explore marine life as well as familiarize yourselves with the island. Rentals are abundant throughout the island so no need to stress about finding one.
Yes, surfing is a watersport but in Jamaica it’s a way of life, and an awesome way for you and your family to bond while visiting. Make your way to Boston Bay Beach the home of Jamaica’s largest waves, rent some boards and take to the water like the locals.
Not quite ready to shred some gnarly waves? No problem! There are plenty of instructors available for lessons and even surf camps for beginners to intermediate level surfers. So go ahead, sign yourselves up and work up an appetite because Boston Bay is also the home of Jerk food in Jamaica.
Dunn’s River Falls. A “must-do” in Jamaica.
Follow the Dunn’s River to where it meets the warm, blue Caribbean sea and you will find one of Jamaica’s greatest attractions and phenomena, Dunn’s River Falls. This gorgeous waterfall is popular amongst tourists and locals alike. Spend the day with your family climbing the falls, swimming the natural whirlpool, cliff jumping or simply lounging on the beach taking in all the natural beauty in front of you.
Living That’s Irie
As the Caribbean’s third largest island Jamaica is a vacation destination not to be overlooked. Immortalized by great music, food, drinks and stunning beaches, Jamaica is the perfect place to plan your next family vacation. Pack up the kids, your favorite shades, sunscreen and get ready to be “irie”.
